A REAL FATHER KNOWS

Tuesday. Idle moment pervaded me, it was strange. It made me feel sick!

I went out, trying to find a panorama that would resuscitate my interest and appreciation of beauty around. I just walked. And in a moment I found myself in a park. The enormous world of joy, it was there. I found it. I saw children happily glide through the slides, up and down and up again, no matter how hilarious looking they are because they are dripping with sweat and powdered with dust, making them look swarthy and far more diferent kind of creature. Who cares anyway? They were just some sort of "happy feet", and they enjoy it. It's fun!

Not until I saw a familiar figure of an adult, yes an adult, mingled with the little ones sitting on a swampy area.

It was John, my college classmate, (but we're not that really close, I think we're friends). When he got up from the area where he sits, his pants was stamped with a huge soil dirt, and it was more hilarious. It's more fun!

He glanced towards my area and no doubt he recognized me.There's no way to escape, he waved!

I approached him, so this day I had the opportunity to speak with a college friend who happens to be a father now. That momentary talk we shared together had brought me thousands of insight.

I found out that he has one daughter, and when he introduced her to me, I began to believe in fantasy, that there are really children born not just look like a princess, think like a princess, graceful as a princess but also as brave as a soldier. She loves campaign and invasion or soldier games or any stuff like guns and ammos. I tried to ask if why on earth she loves those? He answered "I don't know either, she said it's fun!".

I learned that John is a surgeon. And when I asked what is he doing in this place of dwarfs instead of the hospital where he is fit to be in, he began his sermon in the park. And he had just said good points. He said:

"Father should not just play the role of a hero, a provider, a defender,a lawyer, or any kind of implementor or commander, indeed these are necessary no doubt. But sometimes, you have to go down the lower levels. Be an audience, an avid fan, a hanky to sniff, a game loser, a sorry slave, and a weakling enemy. I want her to learn that's why I couldn't resist. But I kept reminding her that there are always limitation to all. And bad ones are deemed to be punished."

And when I heard this sayings, I was astonished. And I said, "what kind of great father you are?", and he laughed.
